As a note, all names of people are changed to a nickname for the sake of anonymity. Now to the story...All year at school they run tours for all the high school kiddies, show them what a grand university this is and how wonderful it is to attend. Yet what gets me, all these kids are seniors in high school and done with college applications, they are not going to be able to change their mind. Oh well, I suppose they are just happy to escape class for a while and be lazy, do not blame them either. So today on my last day of class a friend was there with her school, her name is Pong, and no shes not Asian. I decided to blend in with the group, hang out and talk. I got a few stares from people thinking, who the hell is this dude but no one cared.
So as I am hanging out with Pong, she introduces me to some of her friends there and they snicker with each other after they get my name. Shortly after Pong's friends wander off I ask what the hell was up with that, she tells me they have "known" about me ever since I dated Ms. Holland. Now I suppose some back story is necessary for one to understand.
Over the summer Pong introduced me to a friend of hers whom I ended up dating for a little bit. Pong's friend, "Ms. Holland", was quite the interesting person, but after some time I just did not feel like chasing her for the rest of my life so I ended it. After I stopped dating Ms. Holland, she became rather upset and told her friends all about me, and among her friends I was known as "The BMW Guy."
Now one might think that it is terrible that these people think take a fallacy about someone as true. To me though I find it rather awesome I am "known" and not even by my real name, some where completely different than I usually go! Call me an attention whore, but damn it felt good.
As I left campus and made my way home I couldn't help but laugh at the name "The BMW Guy", they knew so little, but it is such an fitting name.
