It is what you make of it.

Back to the grind in the hospital again and this time, so far, really has been the best yet. Seems like the time is flying by with relative ease. It is really what you make of it, you can either choose to enjoy your time or not and complain. What are you going to do?

Doctors

I had my first doctors check in 5 months today. It is always humbling walking through those doors, a rush of memories always happens. It seems like I am there an eternity even though its only an hour. I have a clean bill of health, which is always a good thing to hear. I am now officially going only once every 6 months. Compared to a year ago and going in every other month, that is really nice. Hell I used to go in twice a week at one point. Anyways, I think I may have a new hobby starting(like I need another one).

Love. It is a word, it is the connection the word implies that matters.

Connections, do some of them die?

I feel the definite answer to that question is no, some do not while some do. And when they do not, they come back with quite the rush. It is nice as a solitary event, and nothing more. If one considers it anything other than that, pain follows no matter what. That is also not to say that the other person has feelings, only if it is mutual as to the happenings. This allows both people to be used as means but as ends in themselves. Go Consequentialism, go! I never thought what Wheeler said in philosophy would get put to use so much by myself. Oh well, it makes things much easier to look at objectively I suppose. Back to the discussion at hand, it does not matter to me if some do die, those are usually the ones that are not as fulfilling. The ones that do not though, those can be rewarding or just make you feel good for a moment. For me, last night makes me feel good. If that is the end of it, I had something for a moment, and I thoroughly enjoy that fact. If there is some more to happen, I do not oppose the idea at the moment. This is taking into account if things are kept as they are, no surprises although being prepared for such is a must.
One of my motto is; "Prepare for the worst, do not assume until it is for certain, hope for the best." I suppose in some ways, I like limiting pain. No I am not a pansy and feel the need to run, I just prefer to limit it. Who the hell wouldn't want to? And that pain can be emotional, physical or anything. I prefer happiness, as does anyone who is sane, but the two do come hand in hand and I accept that. The other motto I use would be;"Do you have your health? Is the sun rising? If the answer is yes, to both then it is a good day indeed. If the answer is yes to only the latter, take the steps to make your health better, you saw the sun rise once more. Also make something of your time that you have and be happy.

Universe?

I think one of the most beautiful things is a clear night, when you can see all the stars above. It is something marvelous and something we as a society know so little about. Science has its bounds for the moment, and I fear I will not find out the answers to my questions I have before I die. I wish to see or hear about the splendor of another planet, with intelligent life. Out of the TRILLIONS of stars in varying galaxies, it is hard to deny that possibility. In fact the universe itself is a mind boggling notion, if it will hit a maximum size the first question that pops into my head is what limits it or what holds the universe. I think if one thinks to long about it their head might hurt, but I think it is something important. If the human race as a whole manages to survive not blowing up one another, we are going to run out of space on our blue planet some day. To remedy that we will need to find somewhere to live. Hopefully if we make it there, we will have discovered a means to which we can travel great distances in little time. I dunno where I was going with this but it is something I thought about. Here is a good video to give you an idea of what an insignificant little speck of dust our planet is on the grander scale.
